Crowd Control Procedures- Winter Sports Programs
The following crowd control procedures and security provisions are designed for athletic events at Haddon Township High School and Rohrer Middle School.
These procedures and provisions are in accordance with New Jersey State Interscholastic Athletic Association and the Colonial Conference recommendations. We have also added additional information directly addressing protocols and procedures to decrease the spread of COVID-19.
Please bring these guidelines to the attention of your faculty, parents, and the student body.
I hope this information will provide your school with a safe and successful visit to Haddon Township High School. Thank you for your cooperation.
ARRIVAL
Coaches and players will be met by the Athletic Director , his designee, or sport specific coach, and directed to their locker room.

LOCKER ROOMS
All valuables and personal gear must be locked in the lockers, or brought out to the opposing team’s bench. Haddon Township High School is not responsible for theft of personal items not secured. Locker rooms will be inspected upon arrival and the Athletic Director/Site Manager will be notified of any damage or concern upon your arrival. Locker rooms should be left in the same condition in which they were found.
Teams visiting for Basketball (Boys and Girls) will use the Girls PE Locker Room in the Upper Gym.
Teams visiting for Wrestling – will use the Boys PE Locker Room attached to our lower gym.
Officials- will use the Boys PE locker room (soccer section)
SPECTATOR CONDUCT AND EXPECTATIONS
As per the Haddon Township School District Board of Education and NJSIAA Policy on Sportsmanship, the following rules must be obeyed. Failure to comply with any portion of the rules and regulations may subject that person or persons to removal from the premises and forfeit their attendance at future contests.
There will be no tolerance for negative statements or actions between opposing players, coaches, fans and/or officials. This includes taunting, baiting, berating participants, trash-talking or actions which ridicule or cause embarrassment. Any verbal, written or physical conduct related to race, gender, ethnicity, disability, sexual orientation or religion shall not be tolerated, could subject the violator to ejection, and may result in additional penalties. The district has been instructed to not issue warnings.
- The possession, distribution, or uses of alcoholic beverages or illegal drugs are prohibited.
- Smoking/Vaping or the use of tobacco products is prohibited on school grounds at any time.
- Noisemakers, banners, and posters are prohibited
- Adult re-admission is by ticket only
- Students who leave the grounds will not be readmitted
- All spectators should remain in stands.
- Please put all your trash in a trash can
- SPORTSMANSHIP is a priority. Cheers are to be positive in nature.

*COVID PROTOCOL: all spectators are expected to remain wearing a mask throughout the duration of their visit to Haddon Township School District buildings.
GENERAL INFORMATION

Administrative passes from visiting schools will be accepted (bearer only). Colonial Conference passes and approved scouting passes will be honored (bearer only). STUDENTS WILL NOT BE ALLOWED TO UTILIZE THESE PASSES.

Admission price per Colonial Conference Constitution: Wrestling and Basketball
General Admission: $3.00
Student (Grades K-8 and Senior Citizens Admission) $2.00

Spectators tickets will be as follows:
- Players on the varsity rosters of the home and away team will be allowed 4 guests to purchase tickets.
- Players on the junior varsity rosters of the home and away team will be allowed 4 guests for JV games/matches.
- The gym may be cleared of spectators between varsity and junior varsity games/matches.
- *COVID PROTOCOL: 180 Maximum spectator capacity
PLAYER EXPECTATIONS
a. Locker rooms are to be left, as they were found.
b. Bring your own lock to secure your locker.
c. Do not leave valuables in the locker room unlocked; lock all your personal articles in the lockers.
d. At no time are visitors to be allowed to wander around the high school building.
e. Please put all your trash in a trash can
AT THE CONCLUSION OF THE CONTEST
a. Again, at no time should visitors be allowed to wander around the high school building. All visiting personnel will be escorted out of the gymnasium to their buses by security and/or the Athletic Director.
b. Coaches please be considerate of time and the next group using the gym. Collect your players, clean up your team bench, talk to your team on the bus ride home. Following your game our custodians will be cleaning up the gym and the open area will make it easier for them to do their job. Every extra minute you stay at our school we may be required to pay event staff and police additional fees. Thank you in advance for expediting this process.
GENERAL INFORMATION
a. Haddon Township will have a certified trainer available and will provide water and drinking cups.
b. Do not bring radios or noise makers into the building.
c. Please do not bring glass containers, additional beverages or food into the gym.
*COVID PROTOCOL: all players and coaches are expected to remain wearing a mask while on the sideline or at any other time while not actively participating in the game/match.
CROWD CONTROL POLICIES
a. The Athletic Director or his Site Manager is in complete control prior to, during, and after the athletic event.
b. Our game personnel will extend the fullest display of courtesy toward all visiting players, coaching staff, students, and spectators attending games on our campus.
c. Crowd Control Personnel and Haddon Township Police Officers will be at every contest, spectators are to remain seated in the appropriate designated seating areas during the game. Spectators will not be permitted to draw attention to themselves at any time, or if it prohibits another spectator from enjoying the game.
d. Noise makers, whistles, posters, Phat Heads, air horns, or radios will not be permitted in the gym.
e. The district will not be responsible for damage or theft of video equipment used by spectators.
*COVID PROTOCOL: all event staff and managers sitting at the scorer’s table are expected to remain wearing a mask while on the sideline.
f. The following regulation must be complied with. Failure to do so will cause said individual(s) to be removed from the contest, and forfeiture of attendance at future contests.
* Any spectator showing an outward display of poor sportsmanship which could possibly lead to a disturbance will be removed from the campus, or turned in to the Haddon Township Police Department.
*COVID PROTOCOL: all spectators are expected to remain wearing a mask while inside our building.
BASKETBALL/WRESTLING TEAM EXPECTATIONS
a. Basketball - NFHS sports rules regarding the coaching box are in effect for every game. Basketballs will be provided for warm-ups. Half-time will resume precisely ten (10) minutes after the conclusion of the first half.
b. Wrestling - Coaches should abide by all NFHS sports rules. Both varsity teams will line up at the edge of the mat for introductions. At the conclusion of introductions, please have your team remain in place for the playing of the National Anthem.
c. All non-suited players are expected to sit in the immediate vicinity of the coach.
d. *COVID PROTOCOL During girls basketball games the bleachers behind them will be closed to spectators. During boys basketball games two rows behind the home and away teams will be closed to allow physical distancing.
EMERGENCY PROCEDURES
In case of an emergency, spectators, coaches, officials and players will be instructed to follow the procedure of the Athletic Director/Site Manager and the Haddon Township Police Officer, in line with The Haddon Township Police Department. This includes, but may not be limited to; all participants (athletes, coaches, game personnel and officials) in the closest team locker room.
